As hard as it is to push through the “blah” times, they help us remember not to take the good times for granted. Knowing that everything cycles through, has helped me except these times of stillness a little more gracefully lately. Glad to hear you’ve been doing the same in a sense.

Yes, leaving behind the idea that we should somehow be consistent every day, all the time, always, has helped me immensely. Going with the ebb and flow of live is where it’s at!

Kristina, I relate so so much to this piece. please take all the time you need to rest and rejuvenate. it’s so important for us to listen to our bodies, even when it’s tempting to criticize ourselves for not finishing our curated to-do list. like you said, we are human beings.

no matter how society and “rules” dictate us, we are simply human with cycles of energies. we can only ebb and flow with the universe one day at a time. sending you love 💛

Thank you, so much Suma! I am so happy to hear you connected with this piece. And thank you for your supportive words. You have no idea how much your words mean to me. I truly appreciate your love and empathy. 🥰💛

I resonate with this Kristina and that was a beautiful poem! We do need to tune in with ourselves, rest, do almost nothing but be. I've recently been forced to do that with an illness but I learnt so much from it,

1. We shouldn't wait to get ill to rest and just be.

2.Our bodies need time to renew, we do so much with it.

3. Sleep is highly important to detox, especially our brain!

4.The weight of doing is an illusion, we can take time out, nothing terrible is going to happen, in fact it's important.

Thank you for sharing this! ✨

I agree with all these things, but it took some time for me to really learn them. I got sick so many times when I was in my 20s because of burnout. would just push myself until illness would force me to stop. I think this is the root cause for a lot of illness, but we aren’t necessarily making the connection, and some make the connection, but are still too stubborn to change.

You made a good point this probably is the root cause for a lot of illnesses, well I'm listening to myself more now and aim to keep it up as I don't wish to push myself to the point of something like what I experienced just to rest / slow down / stop doing so much.

Your 20's sound like most of mine and my friends' with pushing ourselves and getting ill! It can take time to learn the connection and good that you put it into practice.

This really resonated. I love the reminder that not every low moment needs fixing or explaining sometimes the most honest thing we can do is give ourselves permission to simply be.✨

I’m happy it resonated with you, Marlana. This has been an ongoing lesson for me for a while now, and I think I am finally gettingthe hang of it without feeling the need to resist or remedy right away.

I’m definitely challenging myself to simply be more often

Best I could do, as a way of getting your Overwhelm piece to more individuals. I reckon it is important…

I really resonated with what you wrote about allowing ourselves to feel “blah.”

Sleep is the best recharge. But when sleep doesn’t come, meditation can be the next best thing.

For me, the beginning of meditation starts with putting the phone away. This is just my own experience.

Since smartphones—and even before that, the internet—we’ve been running constantly to keep up with a rapidly changing world.

I think many of us have become a little distant from ourselves along the way.

Sometimes it seems necessary to disconnect from the world for a while and spend some quiet time in conversation with ourselves.

Kristina Ray's avatar

I couldn’t agree more, Seungyeon. Since the internet came on the scene, it does feel like everyone is running to keep up with how everything changes so quickly. Spending time in meditation and reflection with myself is vital, and disconnecting from the distractions of the world is essential to really plug into myself.

The "blah" state! 😂 So true!

It's hard ro break free, but our minds and bodies are probably just screaming for some rest. 😅

Maybe I’m the female version of HVR.

I love how gentle you are approaching this state of mind (and spirit too). It's challenging but it's definitely worth it. Giving yourself time to just be with whatever is. And ultimately there is no good or bad, just a mind's perception of any of these. Thank you, Kristina 🤍
